Each month, Cape Town Lesbians features the story of one of the amazing couples that live in our favourite city. I met this very special couple earlier this year at the very first lesbian camp - and getting to know them has been a pleasure. A very special thanks to Lorene and Analine for sharing their story.
Lorene and Analine:
We can still remember each others sweet smiles when we met in December of 2005. We were drawn to each others spontaneous personalities. Eager to get to know each other. Without caution we fell in love…
We gave a new meaning to each others lives and all that mattered was US!
We shut the world out and all we knew was love…
On the March 21st 2008 we took a leap of faith and committed our lives to each other. Promising to love without boundaries, to share our fears, sadness, dreams and aspirations.
Together we are invisible and able to tackle life’s challenges knowing that we are each others soft place to fall.
Communication is important. Compatibility is a definite (Note your star signs). Lots of patience and compromise. Don’t try and change her. Appreciate her strengths. Respect and understand her. Support and include her. Give her that freedom but remember everything in moderation. A relationship doesn’t take care of itself. You’ve got to put a little work in and hit the refresh button every once in a while.
Now after four years of honey mooning we are planning to expand the family (currently consisting of us and our two feline baby boys) Should the magic potion work we hope to be pregnant next year…
