The blogosphere has been heating up with rumors that Lady Gaga might be a little bit more than she appears to be. According to many websites, she is allegedly a hermaphrodite (possessing both male and female sex organs).

This rumor originated after video footage taken at Lady Gaga’s June 26 performance at the Glastonbury Festival in England revealed a suspicious-looking bulge seen in the nether-regions of the singer.

In addition to this, there is a quote in which Lady Gaga allegedly stated “Its not something that I'm ashamed of, just isn't something that I go around telling everyone. Yes. I have both male and female genitalia, but I consider myself a female. It’s just a little bit of a penis and really doesn’t interfere much with my life. The reason I haven't talked about it is that it’s not a big deal to me. Like come on. It’s not like we all go around talking about our vags. I think this is a great opportunity to make other multiple gendered people feel more comfortable with their bodies. I'm sexy, I'm hot. I have both a poon and a peener. Big fucking deal.”

Lady Gaga’s management responded by calling these rumors “ridiculous”. No official explanation has been given yet, and the jury is still out. The video footage is not very conclusive and bulge might have been caused by various other factors (including the clothing that she was wearing).

This whole spectacle around Lady Gaga’s gender sheds new light on exactly how prejudiced people still are towards people that are multi- or transgendered. In an ideal world, this should not matter. We should judge pop stars by the performances they give and by the music they produce. But the sad reality is that in today’s world, this still matters very much.

I honestly don't see what the big deal is anyway.
If anything it makes me sad because, "our growth" as people is not what we all think it is and fingers still get pointed and people are still afraid of having a voice and being who there are no matter what. I feel that 'exceptence' in any society as far as LGBT is concerned it is still far away from a reality. Discrimination still exisits and not only on a homosexual basis. I feel we have a long way to go as people.

I thinks its all a publicity ploy.. the weena thing...she knows how to market herself, so that people dont box her..
(and so what if she does anyway)
would still want her to tie me up, oh yeah lol!
She is a gay icon for men and women! How cool!
By the way, every gay person has had to play poker face

Gaga runs around acting like a rockstar, overtly sexual, bi and outspoken, therefore she must be some semblence of a man!

Girl acts like boy, girl gets given metaphorical tiny penis.
