Hello Girls,

Welcome to the last newsletter for the year (on the last day of the year). It's been a great year, and I'd like to thank you all for helping our group grow (we've just reached 500 members). Please keep on inviting your friends.

As you all celebrate your way into 2009, please be careful. A few of my friends have died during this year's festive season, and all of them in car crashes. This is so unnecessary. Even if you are driving responsibly, it doesn't mean that others are. And please don't be an idiot and drive drunk.

MASK - New Year's Eve Street Party

The Loft Lounge is once again hosting the MASK New Year’s Eve Street Party. As was the case last year, Napier St in front of the Loft Lounge will be partially closed off to create an ambient space with a huge bar, while dance floors featuring international DJs and the best that Cape Town has to offer will be inside the Loft Lounge and Saul’s. Minneapolis- based Red Richard, will be the headliner DJ. Richard specialises in House, Funk, House & Progressive House …and in his own words: “handbag house when I’m feeling particularly gay”. Joining Red Richard will Tony Morris, also from the United States, and Colin Jowell from Sydney, Australia. Some of Cape Town’s hottest dance disc jockeys, including Blaine, Leroy Taylor, Delon Palm, Charl Zero and Josh Borrill will also be spinning the latest, hottest dance tracks. Tickets are R200 if bought before the night, and R250 at the door. VIP tickets are R450, and allow access to the Champagne Lounge in the Loft’s Top Bar, as well as free drinks and snacks. Tickets are available at the Loft Lounge. Visa, MasterCard and Diner’s Club accepted (though not American Express) for sales before the event.

Facebook virus/scam to look out for

Girls, please beware of a facebook virus/scam that's going around. If anyone of your friends sends you a message saying that your pictures are on a website, please ignore it. The website that it links to, gathers personal information about you (including your password) and uses this to hack your facebook account. It then uses your account to send messages to your friends.
