Chanelle Albertyn is a Gender Studies Masters student studying at the University of the Free State; She is doing her Thesis on ‘the relationship dynamics in lesbian relationships where domestic violence has occurred’. If there is any body that has experienced any form of domestic violence in their relationships whether it is emotional, physical or economical abuse, she would like to hear your experiences, views and opinions. All information will be handled professionally and strict confidentiality will be kept.

The problem of domestic violence in Lesbian relationships is prevalent and on the rise, there is need for more research in order to understand and combat the problem. By explaining and understanding we can remove the stigma, understand the problem and address issues. If lesbians continue to deny that lesbian domestic violence exists it will continue to be ignored and the problem will escalate.

Cape Town Lesbians Features This Week:

Destructive Personalities
I am sure that we have all had one, a cannon ball in our life. This is a being that we fall for regardless of all our usual safe instincts telling us to put the breaks on. Friends can say all they like yet we blithely let all out barriers down and forge forward regardless. By the time we have seen the truth its usually too late. Never mind what has happened or what they are saying we are left to deal with the fallout. How do we do this?
http://www.capetownlesbians.co.za/article-archive/lifestyle/154-destructive-behavior.html

Recurring Repeated Repetition
For it is not inertia alone that is responsible for human relationships repeating themselves from case to case, indescribably monotonous and unrenewed.
