March for Zoliswa - Friday 7 Aug 2009
Zoliswa Nkonyana was murdered for being lesbian. Her death was followed by
- 21 court appearances
- 20 postponements
- more than 3 years of injustice
On Friday 7 August, I would like to encourage you to March for justice for Zoliswa. To get the case moved to the Cape High Court. To put an end to impunity for perpetrators of hate crimes.
Protesters will gather at the Parade at 09h00 on Friday 7 August 2008.
ROUTE: The march will proceed from the Grand Parade down Darling Street. We will then turn left into
Adderley Street, and from Adderley, right into Wale Street. After handing over the memorandum at the
Provincial Legislature (situated in Wale Street), protesters will gather for a formal assembly at St. George’s Cathedral

Another Ladyfest Fundraiser presents the awesome Wendy Oldfield. She'll be performing with her full band. Then follow with a surprise set. Their 3 Lady and Guitars is Elzahn Rinquest, the wonderful Tam, and Nuka. Comedian Nina Hastie will be the MC for the evening. And their Lady on Decks is the fabulous DJ FANI. Event will start early.
